Thrifty Art Thursday: Ice Bunting

Here's a beautiful idea from Two Chicks and a Hen on how to make an adorable ice bunting. The photo above is the bunting I made, and you can find her instructions here on how to make one yourself. I think it's a lovely idea for some winter color outside when everything is just covered with snow. Two Chicks and a Hen is my new favorite mommy blog. She's got lots of fun kid projects, all with a focus on simplicity and sustainability. Love it!

The girls and I are hiding at home today. Monkey #1 has a sore throat, so she stayed home from school and the nasty below zero windchill is keeping us all inside. On the upside, I've got some adorable reading material. My very first Etsy purchase came! I'm really excited about this little zine, it's an adorable exploration of flower symbology and how they relate to fairy tales, from TangleCrafts over in merry old England! Best of all each flower is illustrated with a blockprint image! Plus she sent a sweet little postcard extra from Kitty Darkness Designs. So cute as well, though once the kids see it I think I'll never see it again.

Yay!
