Earlier in the month I started this painting. You can see
the initial stage here. Since then I blocked in the hands in white, and started the shading. However the shading in the hands was burnt umber, the same as the background started out, so in order to make the hands pop I brought in red oxide and yellow ochre to the background. I'm liking where it's going. The hands still need a lot of work, more shading, and overall darkening. Right now they're a little vampire like.
This is a photo of my workspace, just thought I'd share. Hope you're having a lovely Art Every Day Month!
It's a wonderful piece of work. I hope the background effects don't get lost in the working :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's coming along very nicely, the background color really makes the hands pop - even if you don't like them vampire like... hehe!
ReplyDeleteI'm liking where it is going as well... yellow ochre is my go to colour to fix everything!!!! The hands are coming together nicely and don't mind the paleness!!!
ReplyDeleteI admire people who know what they are doing with their colours!
