I pulled out my papers and started cutting on Saturday to finish my small painting. After affixing them with matte acrylic medium, I adjusted a couple of things on my lady, focusing on her hands and arms, which needed the most work.
Here's the finished product:
Inspiration of the Earth 8"x8" acrylic and mixed media.
She was donated to the Mid-Michigan Pagan Council to be raffled off at their Potluck Picnic. I was happy to see that her basket was very full of tickets, and I got lots of good feedback. Next time I should make sure to have some business cards with me. I've still got a lot to learn about this whole artist thing.
I think you know how to be an artist. Maybe need to work on the businesswoman part. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your work to bits. And that is a play on words. I love the bits you've cut out and added and everything about your work. The hands don't need detail, just a 'line' and maybe shadow. I am no artist, critic, or anybody of note in the art world...just a bumbling novice who loves to create. This is just my own opinion. The line of her arms AND hands tell us what she is doing and really, just needs to tell us what they are (that is arms and hands). Does this make sense? Well I love your work. *smiles* Norma
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that I won her at the raffle! She is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I had a question - I'd like to hang her in my bathroom but I don't want her to be damaged by the moisture. Is there some kind of coating I could put on to help preserve her or should I find a better place for her to live?
both of those are wonderfully beautiful. the music sheet addition totally changes the painting and I love the result!
